Over the past year the MoRA area has seen significant changes as businesses have recognized the attractive opportunities available in the area. From the recent announcement of the Common Market just down Monroe Road to the relocation of 500 employees by Hendrick Automotive to a renovated operations center formerly home to BJ’s and close to Hendrick’s corporate headquarters on Monroe Road, the new investments are both numerous and newly noteworthy.

There is a growing energy in the area, and a sense that there are great opportunities available here. This momentum can be seen throughout the corridor, and plans for further re-development and construction of new retail and office facilities have been approved for the southeast corner of Monroe Road and Idlewild including a new grocery store and development by Selwyn Property Group.

Transportation improvements including the work on Independence Boulevard nearing completion as well the proposed plans for the Silver Line are attracting the attention of business people throughout the Charlotte region as are the grass roots community efforts of MoRA and its many stakeholders.
